Hush

Testing one, two, three

Last week Ft. Collins opened its third library . . . and it's ONE mile from my front door.  And it's across from Super Target.  As in, I could bike there and pick up a strawberry frappuccino from Starbucks AND check out books.  Could life get any sweeter?

Um, apparently.  Because the YA section of the library?  SLIM would be putting it nicely.  I am taking it upon myself to remedy this.  The plan is to donate four books every month.  That means by next April there will be 48 new books on the shelves.  (And one of them will be HUSH, HUSH!  *squee*)

I like this plan, no?

Of course, it's not entirely altruistic.  The real plan is to introduce myself as an author while donating the books.  (Sort of like bribing them to hear me out.)  If all goes well - deep breath - I'm going to take it one step further and introduce myself to my local indie bookstore, The Readers Cove.  I don't know why this is so nerve-wracking.  I mean, if I can tell Oleg, my cab driver in NYC, that I'm a writer . . . I should be able to tell my local bookstore.  Right?

For those of you in the same boat, [info]trishdoller  gives some great advice on doing the whole I'm-an-author-who-happens-to-live-in-the-area pitch here
